Mary Jane (Martineau) Ryder, of Berlin, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was the wife of Bruce Ryder. Born in Hartford, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Janek) Martineau.
Mary Jane worked at several schools in Hartford, including the Kennelly School cafeteria and the Hamner School as a monitor and the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington, She also was employed at the Fleet Bank in the remittance and adjustments department.
Besides her husband of 60 years, Mary Jane is survived by two daughters: Nancy Ryder of Berlin and Jill Usher and her husband Gary of Newington, a sister: Lorraine Devanney and her husband James of Broad Brook, a grandson Daniel Usher and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother: Edward Martineau and his wife Maria.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Paul Church, 479 Alling St., Kensington, 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday January 20, 2017. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery in Berlin.
