Viola Sadin of Kensington, at age 101, died in her sleep on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Viola was born Vitalia Vaznelis on April 18, 1920 in New Britain. The daughter of Lithuanian immigrant parents Antanas Vaznelis and Antále Mascimoviciute, she was raised by the Kardok family of New Britain when her parents died. She worked at Corbin Cabinet Lock Company and for many years as a switchboard operator for Emhart. A lifelong resident of New Britain and Kensington, she loved to read, socialize, travel, and save newspaper clippings to read to her family. Viola was so grateful to her St. Paul’s church community for supporting her over these last years. She is survived by her son: Paul Sadin of Seattle, WA, granddaughters: Emily (Andrés Hernandez), Leslie Kearley of SC and Louisa Fish-Sadin (Chris Cornelius) of WA, great-granddaughter: June Hernandez of SC, son-in-law: John Kearley of VA, and daughter-in-law Susanne of WA. Viola was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Paul Sadin, Sr., her first husband: George Cattrell, her daughter: June Kearley, and her brothers: Edward and Albin Vaznelis. Family and friends are invited to call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St. Kensington on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10 – 11 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30a.m. at St. Paul Church, 461 Alling St. Kensington.
