Mary Ellen Dutkiewicz, 84, of Berlin, loving and devoted wife of Joseph W. Dutkiewicz for over 66 years, passed away at her residence, Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Ellen was born in New Britain, May 31, 1941, a daughter of the late Edward P. Sekscenski and Alice (Connolly) Sekscenski and had been a Berlin resident for many years. She had been employed as a medical assistant at Grove Hill Medical Center for over 35 years. Mary Ellen was an EMT with the Kensington Vol. Fire Dept., a Reiki Practitioner, a matron at the Berlin Police Dept., a rape councilor, a member of both the Berlin Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Kensington Garden Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Anthony) Calabretta, Carol (David) Zesk, Wendy (Walter Tuell) Campbell; cherished grandsons Brenden (Brittany) Zesk, Deven (fiancé Jessica) Zesk, Doug (fiancé Gina) Campbell, Joey Campbell, Tyler Calabretta; and her beloved dog “Duke”.
Mary Ellen’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Maryellen may be sent to your favorite charity.
