Jane Waterschoot Obituary

Jane Waterschoot (Beebe), lifelong resident of Berlin, passed away at the age of 64, early on the morning of September 11, 2019 due to complications regarding a recent illness.

Jane was an active member of Berlin Congregational Church supporting many of the church’s missions and outreach programs.  She enjoyed assisting the homeless through the church’s Family Promise ministry.  Jane also staffed the church’s fundraising booth at the Berlin Fair as well as contributing to the church tag sales. 

Jane was a Reference Librarian at New Britain Public Library for 33 years.  She was adored by many patrons and coworkers. She enjoyed running book clubs and was instrumental in bringing computers to the library in the 90’s. 

Jane loved doting on her nieces and enjoyed traveling to see them.  She loved books and crafting and outings with friends.  Her life touched so many and she exuded joy, kindness, gentleness, and unending generosity.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Phyllis Beebe (Doolittle) and brother Clayton Beebe.  She is survived by her husband, Henry Waterschoot, sister Evelyn Riley, husband William, nieces Kara Riley-Wenger, Lydia Selzer, Bethany Riley, and Maria Loudis.

Her funeral will be held at Berlin Congregational Church at 878 Worthington Ridge in Berlin on Tuesday, September 17, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery
