Anna Schmidt, 95, of Kensington, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Hospital of
Central Connecticut, New Britain. She was the wife of the late Frank Schmidt.
Born in Czechoslovakia, March 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Elizabeth Wagner,
Anna lived in Plochingen, Germany until immigrating to the United States in 1954. Anna was a parishioner of St. Paul Church in Kensington. With her late husband, Anna owned and operated Frank’s Diner in Kensington for many years. She also worked at Emhart Corp. as a lock assembler for 21 years. Anna is survived by a daughter: Karin Aparo of Hartford, a son-in-law Salvatore Aparo, with his wife Helena, of Newington, a granddaughter: Connie Christiana and her husband David, of East Haddam, a grandson: Bill Aparo of New Britain, great-grandchildren: Anthony and Rachel and two sister-in-laws: Maria Schmidt, with her family, of Southington and Rotraut Wagner, with her family, of Germany. Also, there are nieces, nephews and other family members.
Friends and family may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St., Kensington, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.
